Benson Farmstead
B&B is a beautifully restored 1914 farmhouse set in the Skagit Valley
near the tulip fields, LaConner and Chuckanut Drive. Grandchildren of
Norwegian farming pioneers, Jerry and Sharon Benson restored the farmhouse in
1981 and opened it as a B&B in 1991 after raising their four sons. The 17 room farmhouse is filled with
antiques, Scandinavian curios and old quilts & includes 3 guest rooms
with private baths. A hearty, full breakfast is served in the dining room,
the sun room or kitchen (with small groups). A Continental breakfast may be
served on Sundays. The extensive grounds include a Garden Tower Suite near
the water garden and a Barn Cottage for families that can accommodate up to
8. |

Benson Farmstead
was a working dairy farm in the past and has extensive grounds which guests
are welcome to explore. The grounds feature an English garden that changes
with the seasons, a fish pond and waterfall garden, an antique machinery
garden and a playground. Fruit trees
and many berry plants provide fruit for the preserves and fruit served at
breakfast as well as the desserts served at times. |

When visiting
Benson Farmstead you may enjoy biking through the tulip fields and scenic
farm land of Skagit County, bird watching at the nearby Padilla Bay
Interpretive Center or observing the numerous eagles on the Skagit River and
the Trumpeter swans that winter in the surrounding fields. You may also enjoy hiking and exploring at
Mt. Baker, on the San Juan Islands or at the many surrounding beaches and
parks. Mt. Baker has great skiing in the winter and it is just 90 minutes
away. Additional activities include attending the Tulip Festival in early
April, shopping for art and antiques in the quaint town of LaConner or taking
a drive to view the incredible scenery along Chuckanut Drive and stopping at
one of its outstanding restaurants for lunch or dinner. |

large batch of wholegrain bread every two weeks. Jerry and Sharon have
traveled extensively and they enjoy music, reading, gardening and church activities.
